BOOKS AND BLOGGING PHILOSOPHY

Philosophy is defined as a theory underlying or regarding a sphere of activity or thought. Well, my theory is if I can add at least 10 new books to my Wishlist and move at least 5 older Wishlist selections to my TBR list every month, then life is a ice cream sundae. And if I can find those 10 books from at least 5 new blogs each month then that's the cherry on top.

NEW VISITORS AND OLD- WELCOME!

NEW VISITORS AND OLD- WELCOME!
Well, I've made it almost 5 years now, so for better or worse, I continue on. I tend to blog in spurts as the urge to be creative erupts. As I don't have an artistic bone in my body, you will see very few changes in the layouts. Hey, I'm a reader not an artist like so many of the awesome bloggers I follow. I know you don't always have the time but if you stopped and looked, take a half a minute and say your piece. Recommend a book that you have enjoyed or hated for that matter. Thank you to all who visit.
Oh, and I moved my Google Friend Connect info and share this buttons to the top, as without our friends, who are we?

Blog Tour & Playlist For PUSHING THE BOUNDARIES by Stacey Trombley

Title: Pushing the Boundaries
Series: Off Limits #1

Author: Stacey Trombley
Genre: YA Romance
Publishers: Entangled Teen Crush
(Jan 16, 2017)
Paperback: 185 pages
ISBN: 978-1682813867

Myra goes to Haiti with one goal: take the photograph that will win a scholarship and prove to her uber-traditional family that she has what it takes to be a photographer instead of a doctor. Her camera has always been her shield against getting too close to anyone, but she didn’t expect the hot teen translator who has an ability to see past her walls.
Elias needs his job as a translator to provide for his siblings. He can’t afford to break the rule forbidding him from socializing with a client. Except this girl Myra insists on going outside the city to capture the perfect picture, and he steps in as her guide in order to keep her safe.
The deeper they travel into the country, the harder they fall for each other. Now they’re both taking risks that could cost each other their dreams.
If they get too close—it could ruin both their lives.

 Guest Post-Playlist

Music always plays a big role in my writing. It’s such a great way to find inspiration and promote more *feeling*. I usually use Spotify for my book play lists (I make one for every one I write, and even some I don’t end up writing!) Some songs are fitting for the whole book, the theme, the setting etc, or one scene or one character but they all have a place and feel like part of the book by the end of it (sometimes it even feels weird that readers don’t know the songs!)

Here is my official Pushing The Boundaries Spotify playlist: https://open.spotify.com/user/1256535719/playlist/6icxoIgai82mQym1kJbOjh

In that playlist are some great songs, like Heart Attack by Demi Lavato which totally fits my character Myra. She’s afraid of love and closed off emotionally but somehow there is that one boy who finds a way to cause all the walls to crumble!

“You make me glow, but I cover up
Won’t let it show, so I’m
Putting my defenses up
Cause I don’t wanna fall in love
If I ever did that
I think I’d have a heart attack” (Heart Attack Demi Lavato)

Better Together by Jack Johnson, which is fitting for both characters but Elias especially since he’s the one who really peruses her, who believes they are better together. Also, I Knew You Were Trouble by Taylor Swift, which unfortunately isn’t on Spotify but I still loved for this book.

“Love is the answer,
At least for most of the questions in my heart
Like why are we here? And where do we go?
And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy and
Sometimes life can be deceiving
I'll tell you one thing, it's always better when we're together” (Better Together, Jack Johnson)

I also have several songs by Nu Look (Time, Until When, Rein Que Toi, Haiti, Quel Espoir) who is an amazing Haitian artist who sings in Creole (the language of Haiti). All of this songs are very cool, not that I can understand most of the words! But the feeling behind them, and the music is what really matters!

More songs from my Pushing The Boundaries playlist:

Natalie Imberglia- Torn
If I Ain’t Got You- Alicia Keys
Broken- Seether
Summertime Sadness- Lana Del Rey

Sparks Fly- Taylor Swift

Stacey Trombley lives in Ohio with her husband, new baby boy and the sweetest Rottweiler you’ll ever meet. Any chance she has she’s off doing or learning something new. She went on her first mission trip to Haiti at age twelve and is still dying to go back. Her “places to travel” list is almost as long as her “books to read” list.
