The Harry Potter movies are the best movies I've seen & they are from my favorite books.
ReplyDeleteHave to say Twilight!
ReplyDeleteJurassic Park!
ReplyDeletejanet3rdgrade@yahoo.com
I would have to say two older books and movies, To Kill a Mockingbird and Gone With the Wind.
ReplyDeleteIt has to be the Lord of the Rings trilogy :)
ReplyDeleteHunger Games.. but the Chronicles of Narnia is a close second.. or maybe it should be first
ReplyDeleteMy pick is The Notebook.
ReplyDeleteGreat acting and story.
Bonnie
Hi Lisa :) I really think that The Lord of the Rings trilogy was the best book-to-movie adaptation. I'm looking forward to seeing what Peter Jackson does with The Hobbit!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe is the best book-based movie that I've seen. It has just the right additions while keeping the plot intact and not adding other major plot points. Unfortunately, the other two were really terrible in those respects :(
ReplyDeletePercy Jackson & The lightning Thief! :)
ReplyDeleteI thought "The Town" (directed by Ben Affleck) was better than the book, Prince of Thieves by Chuck Hogan. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for an awesome giveaway! :)

I love Of Mice and Men.
ReplyDeleteI have a deep, undying love for the movie adaptation of To Kill a Mockingbird. It's timeless and still a quality movie, even today.
ReplyDeleteThis is a hard one since the books are ALWAYS better than the movie. But Harry Potter was GREAT
ReplyDeleteI would have to say that the Princess Bride was a great adaptation of the book, though to be fair I loved the movie for many many years before I ever caught wind there was a book!
ReplyDeleteThe Lord of the Rings trilogy is probably #1.
ReplyDeleteHunger Games is also pretty good!
I loved all the Harry Potter movies. But I'd choose the book The Perks of Being a Wallflower. It looks really good.
ReplyDeleteJodi Picoult's My Sister's Keeper. I was not thrilled with the changed ending, but still a good movie made from an outstanding (my favorite) book.
ReplyDeleteJodi Picoult's My Sister's Keeper. I was not thrilled with the changed ending, but still a good movie made from an outstanding (my favorite) book.

ReplyDeleteHarry Potter. Seriously, I can't think of a better movie adaptation.
ReplyDeleteI would have to say Harry Potter, and Lord of the Rings off the top of my head.
ReplyDeleteI thought the book to movie adaption of The Help was really good
ReplyDelete!
The Shawshank Redemption from Stephen King.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I'm with you. The movie is usually never as good as the book. I feel it's basically because when I read, I have my own thoughts and interpretations as to how I think the book should be and then when I see it on film it doesn't match up to my imagination. And believe me, I have a vivid/exact imagination. For instance, the Twilight Saga was ruined when made into film...but the Hunger Games was pretty close to how I pictured things...except of course they had to leave out some things I thought should have been portrayed. This is a great question! Thank you. wendyrailey@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteThe Hunger Games by far! I also loved Twilight.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is probably LOTR. Love those movies!
ReplyDeleteThe Hunger Games :)
ReplyDeleteMy fave is Harry Potter or Lord of The Rings.
ReplyDeleteLORD OF THE MOVIES was incredible to read & on the screen I was blown away.
ReplyDeleteI think the Harry Potter movies were amazing. Sure, they had some errors, but I'd much rather have them than no movie at all. They really brought the magic to life.
ReplyDeleteI think the movie version of Stephen King's Green Mile was absolutely amazing. The books (released as a series) were favorites, but the movie awed me.
ReplyDeleteLord of the Rings followed closely by Pride and Prejudice
ReplyDeleteHarry Potter books.

ReplyDeleteI agree~ I'm always more satisfied with the book than the movie! I can't think of an example of when the movie is best!!! But~ I did enjoy the Lord of the Rings trilogy. :)
ReplyDeleteGone with the wind
ReplyDeleteI think the first Harry Potter movie did a great job of capturing the wonder and world-creating of the book.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely loved The Princess Bride. It was perfect!
ReplyDeleteThe best movie I have seen that was made from a book is Gone With The Wind.
ReplyDeleteayancey(at)dishmail(dot)net
BEST book to movie translation? Hmm...for sticking to the original I'd have to say, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the one with Jonny Depp. Believe it or not (if you haven't read it), it's MUCH closer to the text than the Willy Wonka version!
ReplyDeleteI love the Harry Potter movies and Pride and Prejudice.
ReplyDeleteTo Kill A Mockingbird
ReplyDeleteI would have to say To Kill a Mockingbird and/or the Harry Potter movies.
