Books to Movies Giveaway Hop

Announcing the Books to Movies Giveaway Hop

September 11th to 17th

Hosted by I Am A Reader, Not A Writer
&

As an avid reader I'm never satisfied

with the movie of a beloved book.

There have been some okay ones
but only one where I thought the movie
was better than the book, COLD MOUNTAIN.

What's the best movie you've seen made from a favorite book?

Contest will be open internationally.
I will be giving away
a $10 Amazon/Barnes and Noble Gift card
or I'll let you chose
a book from Book Depository
up to $10 and as long as they ship
free to you, you can enter.
Just make sure they ship to you. If not sure,
 check here.

I love to win Gift Cards and
these are the simplest and the best
as far as I'm concerned.
For every 50 brand new followers,

I'll give away another $10 Gift card or
book from Book Depository.

  3. I would have to say two older books and movies, To Kill a Mockingbird and Gone With the Wind.

    ReplyDelete
  4. It has to be the Lord of the Rings trilogy :)

    ReplyDelete
  5. Hunger Games.. but the Chronicles of Narnia is a close second.. or maybe it should be first

    ReplyDelete
  6. My pick is The Notebook.

  7. Hi Lisa :) I really think that The Lord of the Rings trilogy was the best book-to-movie adaptation. I'm looking forward to seeing what Peter Jackson does with The Hobbit!
    Thanks for the giveaway!

  8. The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe is the best book-based movie that I've seen. It has just the right additions while keeping the plot intact and not adding other major plot points. Unfortunately, the other two were really terrible in those respects :(

    ReplyDelete
  9. Percy Jackson & The lightning Thief! :)

    ReplyDelete
  10. I thought "The Town" (directed by Ben Affleck) was better than the book, Prince of Thieves by Chuck Hogan. :)

Thank you for an awesome giveaway! :)

  11. I have a deep, undying love for the movie adaptation of To Kill a Mockingbird. It's timeless and still a quality movie, even today.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I would have to say that the Princess Bride was a great adaptation of the book, though to be fair I loved the movie for many many years before I ever caught wind there was a book!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Jodi Picoult's My Sister's Keeper. I was not thrilled with the changed ending, but still a good movie made from an outstanding (my favorite) book.

    !

  39. Personally, I'm with you. The movie is usually never as good as the book. I feel it's basically because when I read, I have my own thoughts and interpretations as to how I think the book should be and then when I see it on film it doesn't match up to my imagination. And believe me, I have a vivid/exact imagination. For instance, the Twilight Saga was ruined when made into film...but the Hunger Games was pretty close to how I pictured things...except of course they had to leave out some things I thought should have been portrayed. This is a great question! Thank you. wendyrailey@yahoo.com
