BOOKS AND BLOGGING PHILOSOPHY

Philosophy is defined as a theory underlying or regarding a sphere of activity or thought. Well, my theory is if I can add at least 10 new books to my Wishlist and move at least 5 older Wishlist selections to my TBR list every month, then life is a ice cream sundae. And if I can find those 10 books from at least 5 new blogs each month then that's the cherry on top.

NEW VISITORS AND OLD- WELCOME!

NEW VISITORS AND OLD- WELCOME!
Well, I've made it almost 5 years now, so for better or worse, I continue on. I tend to blog in spurts as the urge to be creative erupts. As I don't have an artistic bone in my body, you will see very few changes in the layouts. Hey, I'm a reader not an artist like so many of the awesome bloggers I follow. I know you don't always have the time but if you stopped and looked, take a half a minute and say your piece. Recommend a book that you have enjoyed or hated for that matter. Thank you to all who visit.
Oh, and I moved my Google Friend Connect info and share this buttons to the top, as without our friends, who are we?

NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS!

I ordinarily do not do New Year's Resolutions. But I started on this one three weeks ago and boy does it feel invigorating. I started blogging about 8 years ago so the emails I receive have built up to an alarming number over the years. My fault totally, as I can't say NO.
I get, on an average, around 300 emails a day (peak days as many as 500). A day mind you! No one can possibly go through that many. So I made the decision to clean out all of the ones from authors. My favorite, I buy everything you've ever written, to those that I only vaguely know what you write authors. This way I can actually read the ones from bloggers about new releases. I promote a lot of new books and had found myself agreeing to newsletters from all you authors. Ordinally this would not be a problem as I expected to hear from you maybe 4 or 5 times a year. Well, there are so many out there that I hear from EVERY SINGLE DAY! I kid you not! Sometimes, twice in one day. You let me know about everything that's going on in your lives, every time the price on a book drops, when you move, when the toilet backs up, and hell even when NOTHING is going on! I also get newsletters from most publishers, not realizing that often this meant every one of their authors too. So I made the decision to clean it up.
No, I'm not interested in responding why I've canceled your newsletter

Unsubscribe Successful

You will no longer receive email marketing from this list.

If you have a moment, please let us know why you unsubscribed:

If I filled this out for everyone I've opted out of that would be up about 800 times, nor will the sad puppy dog eyes encourage/shame me into changing my mind (though I did choose to follow many of you on Facebook or Twitter). I generally already know when you have a new release coming out as I now have time to read your ARCs, other blogger's newsletters and comment on their reviews. I was spending (wasting) so much time deleting unread emails that I didn't have time to read my books. So I have now whittled my daily email intake to a more manageable number so that I can get back to the business of reading new books, reviewing them, blogging about them, and reading the blogs of other reviewers. I now spend less than an hour going through the emails and even responding to many of them. So I'm going to be strong and NOT subscribe to new newsletters and continue to caul out any that did not get caught in the first time draft. I still love reading your books, I just don't need to hear from you every SINGLE day.
Oh- and HAPPY NEW YEARS!

I have subscribed to a ton of newsletters over the years from entering giveaways and I only really skim my email every day. When people I know complain about receiving 5 emails in a day, I want to laugh!
