BOOKS AND BLOGGING PHILOSOPHY

Philosophy is defined as a theory underlying or regarding a sphere of activity or thought. Well, my theory is if I can add at least 10 new books to my Wishlist and move at least 5 older Wishlist selections to my TBR list every month, then life is a ice cream sundae. And if I can find those 10 books from at least 5 new blogs each month then that's the cherry on top.

NEW VISITORS AND OLD- WELCOME!

NEW VISITORS AND OLD- WELCOME!
Well, I've made it almost 5 years now, so for better or worse, I continue on. I tend to blog in spurts as the urge to be creative erupts. As I don't have an artistic bone in my body, you will see very few changes in the layouts. Hey, I'm a reader not an artist like so many of the awesome bloggers I follow. I know you don't always have the time but if you stopped and looked, take a half a minute and say your piece. Recommend a book that you have enjoyed or hated for that matter. Thank you to all who visit.
Oh, and I moved my Google Friend Connect info and share this buttons to the top, as without our friends, who are we?

Love You Dead (Pan Macmillan; Oct 4, 2016; $27.95)
is the twelfth  thrilling crime novel in
Peter James's Roy Grace series.

An ugly duckling as a child, Jodie Bentley had two dreams in life - to be beautiful and to be rich. She's achieved the first, with a little help from a plastic surgeon, and now she's working hard on the second. Her philosophy about money is simple: you can either earn it or marry it. Marrying is easy, it's getting rid of the husband afterwards that's harder, that takes real skill. But hey, practice makes perfect . . .
Detective Superintendent Roy Grace is feeling the pressure from his superiors, his previous case is still giving him sleepless nights, there have been major developments with his missing wife Sandy, and an old adversary is back. But worse than all of this, he now believes a Black Widow is operating in his city.
One with a venomous mind . . . and venomous skills. Soon Grace comes to the frightening realization that he may have underestimated just how dangerous this lady is.

More Praise for PETER JAMES

“...James is a good storyteller, able to mix in proper amounts of mystery and suspense.”
—Booklist on You Are Dead

“Carefully crafted, realistic characters make this entry a standout.”
—Publishers Weekly *Starred Review* on You Are Dead

“He's done it again. But how? You Are Dead, the best-selling author Peter James's 11th annual offering about a fictional British detective, Roy Grace, may just be his best yet.”
—Huffington Post on You Are Dead

“...With over 14 million book sales, there’s no arguing with James’s lethal talent but even by his stellar standards this terrifying, excruciatingly tense tale of twisted obsession is outstanding.”
—The Daily Record on You Are Dead

“Written in a lively manner in the author’s trademark short chapters, the story moves back and forth between and among the characters, which are thoroughly developed.  The plot is clever, and once again, Brighton provides an appealing backdrop to the story, supplemented by the streets of New York City, which sets the stage for both the beginning and end of the book.”
—Spinetingler Magazine on Want You Dead

“James’s tenth Roy Grace outing is thriller writing at its best! This true page-turned by a master of suspense will leave his loyal readers begging for more.”
—Library Journal *starred review” on Want You Dead

“James specializes in short, fast-moving chapters. The jumps in time allow readers to understand the forces that drive this story and sympathize with some characters who are not exactly on the side of the law. Attention is necessary but the threads weave together until the pattern is clear to Grace and completely satisfying for the audience. There is much violence in the book but also touches of humor, and it is all wittily told.”
—RT Book Reviews on Want You Dead

“The author is unflinching in his descriptions of domestic abuse, and paints a vivid picture of Brighton with daily life punctuated by cigarettes, booze, and greasy food. A subplot involving Grace’s vanished wife, Sandy, will please series regulars.”
—Publishers Weekly on Want You Dead

"The climax of WANT YOU DEAD will leave you breathless and surprised. Not everyone who was present at the commencement of the book makes it to story’s end."
—Book Reporter on Want You Dead

“Leave it to Peter James to top himself. With the immensely satisfying Dead Man’s Time (he takes an already seminal series and ratchets it up not just one notch but plenty more by crafting an entry that raises the stakes and increases the sprawl through time as well as territory [...]
The elegance and classic nature of Dead Man’s Time
rivals the best of John le Carré or Frederick Forsyth.”
—Providence Journal on Dead Man’s Time

“Want You Dead is a thrilling page-turner from start to finish, accessible to new readers, but satisfying to those already familiar with its world.”
—Criminal Element on Want You Dead

“This is a very engaging series, which I hope will continue for a long time to come.”
—Bookloons

“This author just earned in a spot on my top ten suspense author list. This book absolutely gets my recommendation.”
—What Is That Book About on Want You Dead

“Peter James's novels are outstanding, and I suggest that they be read by all of those people who are the ultimate fans of crime fiction, as his books are Not Dead Yet,
and won't be for a very long time.”
—The Guardian on Not Dead Yet

“[Dead Man’s Time] is…so well written that it reminds one of a current Charles Dickens or Sir Arthur Conan Doyle novel.”
—Beverly Hills Courier on Dead Man’s Time

“This idea is so good [Faceoff] it demands a sequel.”
—Publishers Weekly on Faceoff
