BOOKS AND BLOGGING PHILOSOPHY

Philosophy is defined as a theory underlying or regarding a sphere of activity or thought. Well, my theory is if I can add at least 10 new books to my Wishlist and move at least 5 older Wishlist selections to my TBR list every month, then life is a ice cream sundae. And if I can find those 10 books from at least 5 new blogs each month then that's the cherry on top.

NEW VISITORS AND OLD- WELCOME!

NEW VISITORS AND OLD- WELCOME!
Well, I've made it almost 5 years now, so for better or worse, I continue on. I tend to blog in spurts as the urge to be creative erupts. As I don't have an artistic bone in my body, you will see very few changes in the layouts. Hey, I'm a reader not an artist like so many of the awesome bloggers I follow. I know you don't always have the time but if you stopped and looked, take a half a minute and say your piece. Recommend a book that you have enjoyed or hated for that matter. Thank you to all who visit.
Oh, and I moved my Google Friend Connect info and share this buttons to the top, as without our friends, who are we?

Oooey, gooey ribbons of delectable melted cheese sandwiched between butter-crisped slices of sourdough, wheat, rye, and even focaccia and croissant, combined with favorite foods such as bacon, pequillo peppers, guacamole, seasonal veggies, caramelized onions, pears, herbs, and so much more—what is there not to love about the modern grilled cheese?
Inside Grilled Cheese, Please, award-winning cheese expert Laura Werlin presents 50 recipes that elevate the classic grilled cheese sandwich to a culinary center-of-the-plate meal changer through innovative and delicious recipes such as Say Olé (Two Cheeses, Guacamole, Bacon, and a Corn Chip Crust); Brie, Mozzarella, and Sautéed Pears with Blue Cheese Butter; and Cheddar, Chorizo, Apples, and Pickled Onions on Ciabatta. The recipes are divided into seven chapters that are arranged by topics such as Grilled Cheese on the Go, Ethnic-Inspired, Meat and Cheese, and Veggie and Cheese among others. Grilled Cheese, Please features full-color photography, along with sections highlighting the best cooking techniques, melting cheeses, and other "best" grilled cheese insights, as well as a list of restaurants, stands, and mobile trucks across the country where grilled cheese is the focus, not the side dish.
Perfectly timed to coincide with National Grilled Cheese Month, Grilled Cheese, Please encourages melted cheese enthusiasts to expand their grilled cheese horizons by enjoying these riffs on the original and in the process become seduced all over again by the velvety goodness found within.

OMG, you will gain 50 lbs just reading these recipes. Grilled cheese sandwiches have always been a staple at my house, you know the ones you make slathered with real butter, lots of gooey cheese that drips out. OMG, my mouth is watering just thinking about them. My kids could fix a grilled cheese or grilled ham and cheese by the time they they were 8 or 9 (as long as I watched so they didn't burn my kitchen down) and it's always been what they wanted when they were under the weather or heartsick during different times of their life. There is NO greater comfort food out there. Nope not even chocolate ice cream. My son still exists on these during the week while his wife is away if he doesn't eat with us.
The recipes in this book takes you to a whole different level of  ecstasy. While they do use a greater variety  of cheeses than I generally use, the philosophy and pictures will have you drooling and leaving wet spots on this book . One caution, DO NOT READ WHILE HUNGRY! If you do, you have been warned.

I have lived in Wisconsin practically all my life and any self-respecting Wisconsinite LOVES cheese. I'm no exception. Grilled cheese is one of my favorite comfort foods amongst many(most containing cheese).

One of the best grilled cheese sandwiches I ever had was at a place called Elsa's in downtown Milwaukee.

You should have warned me in the beginning because I'm on my way to fix a grilled cheese sandwich. LOL! I love me some cheese on everything. I'm getting older now so I don't want to end up with high cholesterol so I try to take it easy.

I also love me some win, grapes, cheese and crackers especially while reading a good book. A match made in heaven.
